I’m not sure what to think about you buying Tumblr. In the last couple of years you haven’t been a company I’d count on. You messed up Flickr, you’re a search engine nobody really uses and you provide eMail accounts like everyone does these days. You have not been a part of my life though I haven’t used Flickr in a while and no other of your services. Now you bought one of my favorite services on the internet: Tumblr.

Tumblr is freedome, Tumblr is love, Tumblr is a lot of Fun, a lot of NSFW and, which is the most important thing to me, Tumblr is a strong community where you do not get judged so easily. There’s always a couple of people who like the same stuff you do. This is what makes Tumblr special. You can find people around the globe with the same intetessts and even if it’s only a passivity “friendship” my followings are an important part of my daily life.

So Yahoo, I believe that Marissa Mayer can and will change your position in today’s world. You can come back and play with the big ones. But please, while doing this, do not destroy this unique community we’ve got here at Tumblr. It’s one of the last places of full freedom and I would like to have it this way. Dear Yahoo!, think before you change a thing and make good decisions. I belive in you.
